FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, DC – June 23, 2010 – The Coalition for Government Procurement (CGP) announced that it is seeking nominations for the 2010 Excellence in Partnership (EIP) Awards. Nominations will be accepted via online entry form here through September 6th, 2010. The winners will be honored during a ceremony at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner on November 1st, 2010.

The EIP Awards were developed eleven years ago to honor those who have made significant strides in promoting and utilizing the U.S. General Services Administration’s (GSA) Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) and its programs.

“Partnership and cooperation are two of the most important factors in successful government contracting,” said Larry Allen, President of The Coalition for Government Procurement. “These 'Excellence in Partnership' awards are designed to celebrate the best-of-the-best in today’s acquisition community, and to serve as a guide for those just getting their feet in the door.”

Winners will be chosen in 16 award categories. Categories include the following:

Best Use of Cooperative Purchasing ? Awarded to the state or local government agency that has made strategic use of schedule contracts in support of their mission.

Most Innovative Acquisition Center ? Awarded to the acquisition office that has worked closely with its contractor partners to provide innovative solutions to customer needs that resulted in overall program growth.

Most Effective Contracting Officer ? Awarded to the GSA official who has worked to ensure efficient management of the contracts under his or her administration. This includes the prompt addition of new solutions, timely award of contracts, and ability to answer contractor and customer questions.

Green Contractor Award ? Awarded to the contractor that has made the best overall commitment to the environment by either offering environmentally friendly products and services, or adhering to environmentally sound manufacturing and/or operating procedures.

Most Valuable Schedule Contractor ? Awarded to the schedule contractor that has worked tirelessly to promote the schedules program, while maintaining an outstanding reputation of working with FAS and serving the customer’s needs.
