2011 Awards Winners
Contractor Excellence in Partnership Award
Presented to the contractor who has demonstrated exceptional contract performance and delivered high quality, cost effective solutions and innovative performance. The recipient has displayed an unrelenting commitment to excellence in supporting their government partners through MAS, GWAC or other interagency contracts.
The award will be given in three categories:
- Contractor Excellence in Partnership (less than $15 million) - O’Connor Construction Management, Inc.
- Contractor Excellence in Partnership ($15 million to $100 million) - Paragon Technology Group, Inc.
- Contractor Excellence in Partnership (greater than $100 million) - Catapult Technology
Excellence in Partnership Award – MAS Contractor – Camelbak Products, LLC
Presented to the MAS contractor who has demonstrated outstanding support of the MAS program in partnership with GSA and customer agencies and delivered exceptional value to customers while enhancing the partnership between government and industry.
Excellence in Partnership Award – GSA
Presented to the GSA contracting/program office which has demonstrated outstanding contributions to the MAS program, whose operational, policy, management and training accomplishments have improved the MAS program.
The award will be given in two categories:
- Best Value - Geraldine Watson, Management Services Center, GSA
- Socio-Economic Status – Howard Innis, Small Business Acquisition Center, GSA
Excellence in Partnership Award – GSA Customer Agency
Presented to the GSA Customer Agency that has demonstrated outstanding contributions to the MAS program through exceptional use of contractors to meet mission needs and save taxpayer money.
The award will be given in two categories:
- Best Value - Craig Karnes, Department of Housing and Urban Development
- Socio-Economic Status – U. S. Army Contracting Command (ACC) - Redstone
Myth-Buster of the Year – GSA - Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM), GSA
Presented to the individual or office that has successfully improved and facilitated communication with industry during the acquisition process.
Myth-Buster of the Year – GSA Customer Agency – LTC Bill McCarthy, U.S. Army Medical Command
Presented to the individual or office that has effectively surpassed communication barriers and improved the communication between industry and government when utilizing GSA contract vehicles.
Green Excellence in Partnership Award – GSA - Program Analysis Division, Office of Acquisition Management, GSA
Presented to the contractor-government partnership that has made outstanding contributions to sustainability and efforts to protect the environment through environmentally friendly practices.
Green Excellence in Partnership Award - Industry - 3M and Ecolab
Presented to a MAS contractor that has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the environment through the utilization of environmentally friendly products and services, or adhering to environmentally friendly manufacturing/operating procedures.
Lifetime Excellence Award – Skip Derick, General Dynamics Information Technology, Lennard Loewentritt, GSA, and Melbourne Noel Jr., VA National Acquisition Center
Presented to the individual (government or industry) in the procurement community who has continually demonstrated outstanding contributions to the federal acquisition system and a commitment to excellence and delivering taxpayer value.
Common Sense in Government Procurement Award – Senator Susan Collins and Senator Joseph Lieberman
Presented to a leading member of the procurement community (government or industry) who has made outstanding “common sense” contributions to the federal acquisition system.
Unsung Hero Award for Procurement Policy Excellence – Mathew Blum, OMB
